  1. Increased Territorial Scope<\/strong>The GDPR can apply to companies established outside the EU, for example, if they are processing personal data of EU residents when offering them goods or services.<\/li>
  2. Privacy by Design and Default<\/strong>The GDPR IT infrastructure is required to include specific technical safeguards for the protection of European PII.<\/li>
  3. Breach Notification<\/strong>Data controllers are required to alert affected data subjects within 72 hours of a data breach.<\/li>
  4. Consent<\/strong>Companies that are relying on consent as the basis of processing personal data will need to ensure such consent meets the higher standards required under the GDPR.<\/li>
  5. Data Protection Officers<\/strong>Certain Companies will be required to designate a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to supervise compliance with the GDPR.<\/li>
  6. Data Subject Access Rights<\/strong>The GDPR enhances the rights of data subjects in relation to the processing of their personal information, including the right to be forgotten. Companies must respond to requests from data subjects exercising these rights within one month.<\/li>
  7.
